1. What are the benefits of using e-Shop?

  • Shop 24 hours per day 7 days per week
  • Products will ship within one business day

2. When can I order through e-Shop?

Orders can be placed 24 hours per day 7 days per week. If an order is received before 4:00 PM Eastern Time, Monday through Friday, the product will be shipped within one business day.

3. What payment options can I use in e-Shop?

You may pay by entering a purchase order number,terms of payment are Net 30 days. After your order has shipped, an invoice will be mailed to you. If you choose to pay by credit card, an invoce will still be mailed to you confirming your order.

4. What if I need to contact Customer Service about my e-Shop Order?

As with any order from ifm efector, our highly trained Customer Service Call Center are available from 7:30 AM to 7:00 PM Eastern Time at 1-800-441-8246 or send an e-mail to:

6. Where are your field sales engineers located?

ifm efector inc. has over 80 direct field sales engineers and representative partners to locally serve you throughout North America. In addition, through our parent company ifm electronic, we can provide worldwide technical, customer, and sales support for all ifm efector products. Call 800-441-8246 for assistance.

7. How is my order shipped?

You may select either Fed Ex or UPS as your preferred shipping carrier. Options also include Ground, Blue, or Red. You may use your preferred carrier's collect shipping number. Orders received by 4:00 PM EST normally ship within one business day. Please refer to your preferred carrier's website for accurate delivery schedule. Due to customs clearance this may vary.

8. How do I know the status or how can I trace the shipment of my order?

You can track the status of your shipment by clicking on "My History".

9. What products are available on e-Shop?

There are over 2000 products available through e-Shop, including inductive, capacitive, cylinder position, photoelectric sensors, object evaluation products, flow, pressure, temperature and level sensors, predictive maintenance sensors, AS-i Bus system, connectors, identification systems and control systems for use in mobile machines. These products are regularly stocked items. 10. Why do I have to enter my credit card number each time?

To insure the highest level of security, our system does not save your credit card information. Therefore, you must re-enter your credit card number each time you place your order. If an adjustment must be made to your account, please have your credit card information available.

11. Can I have multiple ship-to locations?

Absolutely! Your account will allow you to add and retain up to 99 shipping locations within Canada. With one click, you can enter this information into your order.

12. What documentation will I receive?

After the order is processed, you will receive an e-mail order acknowledgement. After the shipment is processed, you will receive an invoice in the mail.

13. What if I forget my password?

Please
click here and follow the instructions. You will receive an e-mail within minutes with a temporary password. You will be prompted to change it the next time you log in.

14. How secure is e-Shop?

The data transfer between ifm efector e-Shop and your browser is accomplished by using a secure connection via Secure Socket Layer (SSL). Specifications of SSL certificate include: 128-bit encryption, SSL 3.0 protocol, and an RC4 keytype. It is not necessary to update the SSL certificate if you are using Internet Explorer 7 or higher. The SSL certificate is authorized by the digital certificate authority Thawte located in Raleigh, NC.

15. Does e-Shop use cookies?

Yes, cookies are used for session administration to add or delete products to your shopping cart. A cookie is a small text file located on the hard disk on your computer and does not contain any personal, purchasing or credit card information. Furthermore, this file and any personal information will be deleted after finishing the shopping process.

16. What will happen to my personal data?

This information will be used only for order processing. ifm efector ensures that your personal data will not be given to a third party.

18. What has to be taken into account for the delivery costs?

??? The delivery costs amount to $15.50 for normal overnight delivery. They are indicated on the summary page. For express delivery ex Germany, please refer to question 17.

19. Can a parcel or order be tracked online?

Yes. There will be a link to our freight forwarder's web site on the front page of the order. Acknowledgement of delivery and a consignment number will have been emailed to the customer at the time of despatch, and this consignment number will be the reference for tracking.

20. What function does the area 'Favorites' have?

The user can manage his personal product favorites. Product favorites are all those products ordered more often or often used in projects.

21. What information does the user receive after ordering?

The user automatically receives an e-mail confirming the receipt of the order. After order processing he receives an order confirmation with the exact delivery dates and the order details.

22. Is it possible to see information on orders placed on the phone?

No, the area "Order history" only contains the orders placed in the e-Shop. Orders placed by mail, by fax or by phone are not shown.

23. How secure is the e-Shop?

The data transfer from and to the web server is effected via a safe SSL connection (SSL = Secure Socket Layer). The user needs no certificate of his own since the certificate used is automatically identified by the new browsers. At present the e-Shop uses the SSL 3.0 protocol with key type RC4 and a 128 bit coding.

24. Does the e-Shop use cookies?

Yes, cookies are used for the management of the individual sessions. They ensure safe processing and modifications of the shopping basket for each user (user tracking) without information being confused or mixed up. These small text files are deleted from the hard disk of the user after termination of an order or a session.

25. What happens if the user has forgotten his password?

In this case a new temporary password can be requested via the function 'Password forgotten?' It is automatically e-mailed to the user. He must change this temporary password immediately afterwards.

26. Is personal data passed on to third parties?

No! ifm Australia does not pass personal data on to third parties and guarantees the confidentiality of the data under consideration of the data protection provisions. The data collected is stored on servers in Germany.

27. Is further data collected?

When the websites are visited, the IP address of the Internet Service Provider is stored as a standard. In addition the websites from which the ifm sites are visited, the ifm websites visited, the date and the duration of the visit are stored. ifm uses cookies to follow up the preferences of the visitors and to optimise the websites accordingly.
